It’s been a long time since I wrote last, I know. Did you notice?!
I didn’t mean to stay away so long but I was really waiting out potential buyers for the house and potential buyers for the last two alpacas all at the same time! I was hoping to be able to post with great news quite a while ago but as things go, I had to just keep waiting and waiting and waiting for things to fall into place and be finalized before I mentioned it. I didn’t want to broadcast it across the internet before I knew for sure that things were going to go through. Once they did, time just flew by.
The same day that I got a call from the gal that bought the two alpacas & the horse saying she wanted them, we got an offer from another couple on the house! What a crazy day THAT was! And…it’s been crazy ever since!
Things have been moving forward steadily & quickly. The alpacas and horse have been delivered to their new home and are settling in there nicely & have sold the farm! Since the farm was never listed for sale, yes, you read that right…in THIS economy, we have sold our farm without ever putting it on the market with a Realtor! We just happened to go to an alpaca show at the end of March just to see a couple of alpacas that we sold and see them show. We were introduced to a couple that also have alpacas but were boarding them. They were in the process of looking for their own farm. The rest is history. We’ve now rented an apartment in the town where I work and are settling in somewhat.
I know I whined and complained that things were moving too slow for me at times throughout this process but the last few weeks have flown by and pieces fell perfectly and painlessly into place. Now, we’ve moved to an apartment and are waiting for an opportunity for Jon to work in Florida so we can move down there! Pretty scary but exciting too. I have a feeling it won’t be long before we’re on the move again.
So many things have fallen into place so seamlessly in this process that we can’t help but believe it’s the right thing to do. We made the decision to move to Florida and started this process way back on July 3rd, 2009 and here we are.
You are so lucky and blessed to have this go so smoothly. After all we went through to make our dreams come true I’ve always been so skeptical. But you were just in the right place at the right time when you met that lovely couple that fell in love with your farm ! I’m sure you will be taking the next steps soon. And YES I noticed that you were missing. Welcome back !
Thank you for noticing Marjorie. We know that things happen when they are supposed to happen. Trust this along with us and you will see.
Congratulations. The move will go well, though if you are like me, you are loosing a few hrs of sleep trying to work through everything. Have a great day.
Congratulations . . . . I am very happy for you and Jon. It was a pleasure meeting both of you and I am NOT surprised that you sold your house so quickly without a realtor; your home was beautiful.
Thank you so much Deb. I still wish you were the one buying the place but I know things are falling into place as they should. I totally understand your reasoning and hope your mom is OK and dealing well with her ailments. Dad is not so fortunate as we have learned he has prostate cancer and due to his age and response to general anesthesia and morphine, surgery is not an option. They talk about “freezing” it, which we know nothing about other than that is extremely painful, especially for a man his age. I so wish we were there with him through this. We do believe that God knows what He’s doing though and we have to trust this truth. I feel for you and the situation with your mom. Hoping things are working out as planned.
Norm, we are in the same boat. I’m sure all will run smoothly and as planned as I know we both have The mutual Orchestrator in charge. Bless you both in your new endeavor and much success.
Congratulations! I was wondering what you were up to – this is great news! Good luck on the second phase – getting moved down to Florida…we will save some sunny weather for you
Phyllis, I decided it was time to check your blog to see what is happening in your life! Congratulations on the quick sale of your house – I’m pleased for you, that the pieces are falling into place! I’m also sorry to read that Jon’s dad is having prostate issues. I’m sure you both wish you could be down in FL right now, but trusting, with you, that God’s timing is always perfect.
I haven’t poked around on your blog yet enough to know if you are still accepting contributions for the chemocaps, but I will do that ASAP.
We’re in NH again for the summer, in our little booth collecting fees as the visitors come into the park. And enjoying the primary benefit, which is spending time with our family. The booth is a great place for anything computer related, or for reading or for crocheting hats
Continuing to think of you and Jon and I look forward to hearing how God directs your future. Hello from Gary!
